Three Programmes
Education Programmes Built Around Singapore Life
Each programme addresses a distinct financial literacy topic — structured as reading series and discussion workshops rather than lectures or advisory sessions.
Back to HomeOur Methodology
How Marbeth Programmes Are Structured
Every Marbeth programme follows the same core format: reading material is distributed before each session, and classroom time is spent in structured discussion rather than passive listening. Participants arrive prepared. Questions develop over the course of the series rather than being required all at once.
Cohort sizes are capped — 14 participants at most — because the quality of discussion depends on each person having genuine room to contribute. Facilitators come from adult education backgrounds and lead sessions with a deliberate, unhurried rhythm.
Pre-session Reading
Printed materials and workbooks distributed in advance of each meeting.
Discussion-Led Session
Small cohort meets to discuss, question, and connect the material read.
Reflection Between Sessions
Spaced scheduling — weekly or fortnightly — allows understanding to settle before the next meeting.
Materials Retained
All workbooks, glossaries, and recordings are yours to keep and revisit.
Retirement Readiness Reading Series
A structured six-session study programme walking participants through Singapore's national savings landscape — CPF ordinary, special, and medisave accounts, SRS contribution windows, and the interaction between these frameworks as people approach the second half of their careers. Sessions are discussion-led with advance reading distributed before each meeting. Suitable for individuals between 40 and 60.
- Printed workbook and session recordings included
- Glossary of CPF and SRS terminology
- Maximum 14 participants per cohort
- Purely educational — no financial advice given
Household Budget Conversations Workshop
A weekend workshop focused on the practical conversation skills needed to coordinate household finances during mid-life transitions — children entering tertiary education, ageing parents, mortgage refinancing decisions, and shifting career income. Participants practise structured budget conversations using prepared scenarios drawn from local Singapore household contexts. Groups of 6–10 participants.
- Printed conversation guide and household cashflow workbook
- Singapore-context scenarios throughout
- Optional follow-up peer discussion circles
- Reflection-focused — no prescribed action steps
Estate & Legacy Planning Literacy Programme
An eight-session evening programme introducing participants to the concepts and vocabulary around wills, LPA documents, advance care arrangements, and CPF nomination — within the Singapore context. The programme is educational in nature: participants gain familiarity with the landscape so they can have more informed conversations with qualified professionals. Suitable from age 45 onward.
- Printed reference materials and legal terminology glossary
- Participant directory for ongoing peer discussion
- Unhurried evening format — reflection built into scheduling
- Literacy foundation, not a substitute for qualified advice

Across All Programmes
Standards We Hold to Without Exception
No Financial Advisory Services
All programmes are educational. No recommendations, no product discussions, no regulated financial advice — in any session or any material.
Participant Confidentiality
Personal information shared in sessions stays in the room. No participant financial details are recorded as part of any programme activity.
Annual Content Revision
Materials are revised annually against current CPF policy, Singapore legislation, and participant feedback. Each cohort receives current content.
Cohort Limits Maintained
Programme caps are not adjusted for demand. Waiting lists are maintained and priority offered to the next available cohort.
Plain-Language Materials
All workbooks are reviewed for clarity by adult education specialists. Vocabulary is defined within the material rather than assumed.
Education-Background Facilitators
Facilitators hold backgrounds in adult education and public policy — not financial services — to preserve the programme's character.
